The city is so alive, full of energy, there are many visitors and places to see. From Palace of Culture to Copou Park everything seems to be in a walking distance with a city center full of coffee places and restaurants, museums and theaters and other points of interests. Iasi is a busy, vibrant city with lots of restaurant options...
Iasi is a busy, vibrant city with lots of restaurant options and a very large shopping mall with top end shops right in the centre of the city. Tourist attractions are nearby, but I chose to make the three hour drive to the spectacular mountains and amazing scenery. Iasi and Romania were full of surprises and nothing like my preconceptions. I felt extremely safe in the city and people were very pleasant and helpful everywhere I travelled.

Beautiful, clean, nice people, magical to so many cathedrals and churches. I love it! The restaurant in hotel Casa de oaspeti Sfantul Nicolae offers traditional Romanian food and was delicious. The city centre is amazing, hence I recommend visiting Iasi for a few days, but not any longer or further from the city centre. I graduated from Iasi 10 years ago and expected some visible developments for the rest of the city, but with the deepest regret I suggest travellers to stick to the city centre. It's a generally safe city full of history but can, unfortunately, look forgotten.

Because this hotel is owend by the Romanian Ortodox Church, inside you may have the feeling that you stay in a church/monastery ( The ambient, people, smell). If you don't care about these things (like me :) and you just want to pay less for a good location, than is a good choice. The personnel was very kind. But the hotel owners found me in the city and we went to the hotel together. I found my room clean. It was possible to prepare food yourself in the room. I found an internet connection fast and stable. The are snack and drink automate near entrance and beautiful cafe close to hotel. We spend an hour in this cafe with owner and his wife. The coffee was very tasty and conversation pleasant. Thank you a lot.

Its prices are very affordable, especially considering that breakfast is included. It has very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is run by a religious youth organization, which gives it a lot of atmosphere. Most likely you will be having breakfast with some orthodox priests or nuns.
